Skin, Body and Soul Rituals for Fall

Autumn is in full swing and you're probably noticing some changes in your skin! At Everly Grace Beauty we believe in offering some self-care and daily ritual changes with the season so you can feel your best as the cooler morning and shorter days come in. This is a season of deficiency and change and when temperatures drop, the body needs to find ways to keep from losing heat. Below you will find ways to keep not only the skin but the body in balance as well.

1. Skin Balance - Have you noticed the skin can lose its natural glow in the cooler temperatures? As the temperatures get cooler outside the pulse will start to slow down, the blood vessels start to restrict, telling the body to protect itself from heat loss and will slow down the blood flow to the skin. A few ways to help combat the dryness and to keep a luster to the skin is by adding in Hydrating Mist after cleansing AM and PM and throughout the day as a hydrating spritz over sunscreen or makeup. We love and recommend Naturopathica's, Lavender Honey Balancing Mist that feels refreshing or nourishing to the skin. We also love Enzyme's! Enzymes use fruit extracts to help bring circulation and remove build up on the surface of the skin. We love Epicuren's, Apple Spice Peel because it freshens the skin but also smells like fall.

2. Nutrition - This is the time to offer foods of the season. Our body craves the hydration of soups and warm teas to help the body feel grounded and give hydration. We always recommend eating seasonally as well: Squash, pumpkin, beets, almonds and carrots are a few to add in. Check out this pumpkin chili recipe on our blog.

3. Connecting with the Soul - Take a fall hike and do some yoga in nature. Allow the body and soul to reconnect with the earth and breath in the cool fresh air and set some intentions for the last few months of the year.

Now is your chance to practice some new skin, body and soul rituals for fall.
